Seoul Searching
For the first issue, I chose to focus on Seoul—a city celebrated for its vibrant street food, dynamic café culture, and ever-evolving dining trends. From steaming bowls of tteokbokki to sleek minimalist coffee shops, Seoul’s food scene is full of contrast, tradition, and creativity.
The design takes cues from traditional newspapers, incorporating tight columns, bold headlines, and a clear visual hierarchy. I wanted the piece to feel tangible and familiar—something you'd want to pick up and flip through. At the same time, it needed to feel fresh, with playful headlines and thoughtful pacing that guided the reader through each spread.
My goal was to capture the spirit of food journalism while making it fun, digestible, and design-forward. Super Yum News blends storytelling with strong visual language to serve up a unique reading experience that’s as satisfying as the meals it covers.
